Frequently Asked Questions

How does billing at Building Up Bold Work?

All payments must be completed via QuickBooks invoices. This system allows quick, secure online payments and you can still pay using Venmo directly through the invoice link.

We will invoice clients twice monthly 1-15th and 16-31st. A standard 3% processing fee will apply to transactions.

To help everything run smoothly, we kindly ask that all invoices be paid within 7 days of receipt unless otherwise arranged.  Otherwise a $25.00 fee will be applied to invoice by they system.

What is your cancellation policy for scheduled sessions?

We require 24 hours notice when canceling or rescheduling your appointment. We appreciate when given as much notice as possible as our time is valuable. Appointments canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours notice will NOT be charged.

Late cancellations will result in a $25 charge on your next invoice.

Failure to notify us of a cancellation or not showing up for a scheduled service will result in a 50% service charge fee.

Do you accept insurance?

We are private pay and we do not accept insurance. We cannot provide a traditional superbill, however, we can provide a billing summary with charges, services, dates, and payments.

Building up Bold is unable to provide a medical code for HSA insurance. While coaching services are generally not considered qualified medical expenses under HSA, there may be exceptions for a student with a diagnosed learning disability or medical condition that impacts their ability to learn.

The family would need to check with their provider to see if they qualify. If eligible they would use their healthcare reimbursement debit card to pay for service.

Do you offer discounts?

We can offer a discount when a family enrolls two siblings or family members at the same time. Contact info@buildingupbold.com for more information.

Do you work with adults?

Yes! We support adults through 1:1 EF coaching, family coaching, and hands-on help with calendar setup and organization. Contact info@buildingupbold.com for more information.

How long does executive function coaching last?

At Building Up Bold, our ultimate goal is for students to feel confident managing their own growth. The Bold on Your Own stage happens gradually, giving students the chance to take ownership of their developing executive function skills while we gently step back to let them practice independently.

We want every student to feel empowered and capable. When a student feels ready, we’ll come together as a team to talk through next steps and create a plan that feels right for everyone.

There’s no fixed timeline, every student’s journey is unique. Some may feel ready after about 12 sessions, while others may need a bit more (or less) time depending on their goals and comfort level.

Do you provide academic support in core subjects?

I am not a subject-area tutor. I help students plan projects, stay organized, and find the resources they need. If students need extra support in specific subjects, I work with trusted content tutors I can recommend.

What if my child doesn’t want coaching, but I know they could really benefit from it?

It’s normal for students to be hesitant at first this is something new! I don’t want to add to any educational stress, so we always talk with students first to make sure our personalities are a good fit.

This work is grounded in relationship, trust, and authenticity. We’ll meet with your student, see how they feel about coaching, and take it from there.
